Bloomsburg Softball Splits with West Chester

BLOOMSBURG-- The Bloomsburg University softball team swept a doubleheader from Mansfield on Tuesday by scores of 5-1 and 9-2.

In the opener, Ashley Lynn (Riverside/Danville) allowed just four hits and one run, while striking out a season-high 14 batters in earning her 13th win of the season. Offensively, Tara Reed (Williamsport/Williamsport) went 2-3 and drove in two runs, while Kayleen Sidisky (Bellefonte/Bellefonte) drove in a run with a double, one of her two hits in the game.

In the nightcap, Mandy Koch (Dauphin/Central Dauphin) was 2-2, scored twice and drove in two runs to back the 10-strikeout performance of Reed. In addition to Koch driving in two runs, Sidisky brought home two runs, while Jess Rosin (Brooklyn, NY/James Madison) was 2-3 with a run scored and an RBI.

Bloomsburg improves to 28-5, 7-3 in the PSAC East, while Mansfield falls to 7-12, 1-9 in the PSAC East. The Huskies host Seton Hill on Wednesday at 3 p.m.
